Along for the ride in the search release are a few other Reader tweaks. [...] Unread counts now go to 1,000, so that you can know just how far behind you are when you come back from vacation.

Aw bless… Google must only let the Reader team take weekend breaks, because if I even leave Google Reader for a long weekend, I’m usually at the 1000+ point by the time I get back (I’m at 162 subscriptions and unsubscribing where I can!).  Still, I’m happy that unread counts now go above 100, because, on a non-”vacation” day-to-day basis, I can now just look within Reader, rather than having make my status bar re-appear.  Search is fab too.  Thanks, Google Reader guys.
